sager-logo Sager Electronics, a North American distributor of Interconnect, Power and Electromechanical components and provider of value-add solutions, announced its partnership with world-class interconnect manufacturer Samtec sponsoring The Maker Mobile, a traveling 32 ft. long trailer offering a hands-on, design experience at the VEX Robotics World Championship. The event was recently held at the Freedom Hall Exposition Center in Louisville, Kentucky.

“Throughout the weeklong VEX event, The Maker Mobile, a modular, community-based classroom on wheels, showcased standard manufacturing equipment in a fun and engaging way,” said Karl Soderquist, National Distribution Sales Manager for Samtec. “With Sager’s co-sponsorship, Samtec and The Maker Mobile were able to offer countless students of all ages hands-on access to 3D printers, a laser cutter, a CNC machine, vinyl cutters and more.”

“When Samtec asked for Sager’s support of The Maker Mobile at the VEX Robotics World Championship, it was an easy decision,” said Joe Norton, Sager’s Supplier Marketing Manager for Samtec. “Sager, which sponsors STEM programs both locally and nationally through different efforts, shares Samtec’s goal of fostering STEM programs for children of all ages. We are proud to support organizations like Samtec and The Maker Mobile, which value STEM education in local communities.” Recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records as the largest robotics competition on earth, the VEX Robotics World Championship is a week-long robotics event that brings together more than 1,400 of the best competition teams from around the world to celebrate student achievements in STEM. Challenges and competitions are offered from elementary school through high school levels. The goal of the event is to promote robotics as a universal language with the power to change lives and culture for the greater good.
