In order to provide a greater variety of rugged distributed I/O technology, Beckhoff Automation has introduced the new EP1518 EtherCAT Box. This dynamic I/O device integrates numerous functions such as 32 bit fast-pulse counters, digital inputs with sensor diagnostics and adjustable filter characteristics all into one compact and feature-laden I/O box.
借助EP1518，Beckhoff的多功能I/O技术已扩展到包括灵活的IP 67级变体，非常适合在电柜外和在恶劣的环境中使用。EP1518实现较短的周期时间；通过Ethercat更快的网络通信速度，提高分布式物流的精度等等。
The EP1518 EtherCAT Box has eight 24VDC inputs as well as an EtherCAT input port and output port for linking to the process level. The device also counts fast pulses with a counting frequency of up to 1 kHz. Integrated data pre-processing enables the reliable counting of pulses, independent of the control cycle time.
EP1518的所有八个输入都配备了可以停用的上/下柜台和门输入。八个输入中有两个可用于标准32位向上/向下计数器，但是EP1518 IP 67框上的所有八个信号输入均以ethercat网络上的“正常”数字信号传输。此外，通过传感器供应的诊断，Ethercat盒配备了短路检测。可以通过10¼S至100 ms之间的滤波器特性来调整对最多样化传感器/开关的输入基于软件的适应。
