Exlar Expands Versatile K Series(TM) with New K90 Linear Actuators

ByLinear Motion Tips|October 12, 2012

Exlar announces the expansion of its K Series™ line of linear actuators with new K90 models. Designed for flexibility, this compact, 90-mm frame size actuator offers three distinct performance levels and allows the use of third party motors. Featuring dimensions and form-factor consistent with ISO Metric pneumatic cylinder specifications, K90 actuators can directly replace pneumatic and hydraulic actuators.

Designed to provide a universal solution for linear motion rod style actuator applications, K90 actuators are available in three models that offer two grades of roller screws and one Acme screw for an actuator solution that satisfies diverse performance and cost requirements.

  • KX90actuatorsincorporate a high performance planetary roller screw to deliver performance capabilities ideal for demanding applications in industrial automation, mobile equipment, process control and other applications requiring millions of inches of travel under load.
  • KM90actuators employ a lower cost planetary roller screw for applications lacking the same longevity requirements offered in the KX Series, while still delivering twice the life of similarly sized ball screw actuators and the operational efficiency and resistance to shock associated with roller screws.
  • KA90actuators utilize an Acme screw, making them ideal for slow-speed, low-duty cycle applications where the load must occasionally be repositioned during operation.

The K Series actuators allow complete flexibility in the type and style of motor selected to drive the actuator, including DC motors, stepper and servo motors. Further, actuators can be ordered with or without a preconfigured motor mount, allowing the customer to manufacture their own mount.

Exlar’s K Series actuators are also available in a variety of special materials and coating options for applications that require a higher level of corrosion-resistance.
