Watlow Logo_tag-3color Watlow has announced that its Jiading, China facility recently received a Certificate of Authorization from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME). The ‘U’ or ‘U Part’ certificate designates that the facility’s pressure vessels, flange immersion and circulation heaters meet the Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code (BPVC), Section VIII, Division I requirements, and therefore will be stamped with the ‘U’ certification symbol.

The Jiading facility also received both the ‘R’ Stamp Certificate of Authorization and the Certificate of Authorization to Register ‘NB’ from The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel Inspectors for the repair and/or alteration of pressure vessels, flange immersion heaters, circulation heaters and other pressure-related items. These marks certify that Watlow’s Jiading facility can apply both the ‘R’ and ‘NB’ stamp, and register pressure vessels, flange immersion and circulation heaters or other pressure retaining items with the National Board.

“We are very proud of our certifications from The National Board and ASME,” said Samir Dorle, director of operations and supply chain for Watlow Asia. “We are committed to safety and have worked hard to have our commitments recognized. Our customers can be assured that they are purchasing top-quality products from Watlow.”

The AMSE BPVC Certification Program conforms to the rules governing the design, fabrication, assembly and inspection of boiler and pressure vessel components during construction. Products manufactured by ASME BPVC holders are certified and stamped with the certification mark in accordance with applicable ASME BPVC section.

The National Board of Boiler and Pressure Vessel inspectors was created in 1919 to promote greater safety to life and property through uniformity in the construction, installation, repair, maintenance and inspection of pressure equipment.
