Hegel Holdings Makes Organizational Moves

American Control Electronics (ACE) is pleased to announce that as part of its strategic initiatives, it is making several organizational moves. These moves both recognize the significant contributions of the people directly involved, as well as, better position the organization structurally for future growth. These moves will all be effective October 1st.

Dan Schnabel is being promoted to the position of President, where he will report directly to the CEO, John Hegel. Since joining the business in 2000, Dan has worked tirelessly to improve the operational effectiveness, productivity and quality of the American Control Electronics and Minarik Drives product lines. His team has reduced working capital requirements and total cost of quality, while improving efficiencies & processes, and increasing throughput. These advances were critical to earning ISO 9001:2008 certification last year.

In addition to the operational advancements, Dan has overseen the successful introduction of the American Control Electronics brand and the introduction of several new product lines and product enhancements. Those product introductions have proven critical in the development of new OEM’s which, in turn, have driven the double digit sales growth that American Control Electronics is experiencing.

Miodrag Zubic is being promoted to the position of Director of Engineering. Since joining ACE in 2001, Miodrag has led the drive design effort into the digital control arena, and personally created multi-axis, AC, and high Power DC controls… all with functionality never offered previously. In addition, he has significantly improved the manufacturability of our OEM designs and has deservedly established himself with several customers as not only an expert in his field, but also as a customer sensitive engineer who is able to translate needs into product and has helped many of ACE’s customer improve their own market competitiveness.

Chris Fordell is being promoted to the position of Supply Chain Manager. Since moving his family from the Chicago area in 2003, Chris has provided valuable assistance to the company in many ways. He has done everything from taking tech calls, to making sales calls, to improving our supplier base through better purchasing processes and developing better purchased material specifications. In addition, he has created an ISO style ‘dashboard’ to measure supplier value and communicates supplier improvement requirements on a regular basis. Vikki Demus will report to Chris in his new position.

Austin Burgener has accepted the additional & newly created responsibilities of Product Manager. In this role, Austin will help us create a ‘product road map’ for future product development while still retaining a role in the design world. He has been instrumental in the creation of several low voltage output products with complicated I/O arrays, PV direct control systems, and an array of multi-axis designs.

Along with the rest of the management and leadership group( Deb McGinniss, Darcy Wilson, Lisa Strathman, and Steve Christophersen), these organization changes help us prepare for the even faster rate of change that our markets and competition will drive in the future.

Hegel Holdings, LLC is the parent company for the Minarik Drives and American Control Electronics brands. Located in South Beloit, IL, the company designs and produces a wide variety of AC & DC electronic control systems and power products used in Industrial, commercial, electric vehicle and medical markets, Hegel Holdings has also developed several “Green” products that allow motor control through the use of battery or photovoltaic power supplies.
