German RepRap offers nylon filament PA6 for robust 3d printed models

For professional3D printedparts like gears, bearings, fittings, car parts, and so on, German RepRap offers nylon-PA6 filament. PA6 is being used to produce robust and hard wearing parts for the automotive and other industries using the OpenSource 3D printer.

Nylon filaments for FFF 3D printers represent another step towards the professional OpenSource 3D printing. This plastic is more durable than ABS. It has been tested extensively using the X400 jumbo 3D printer. Adhesion to the printing bed covered with Kapton tape was excellent, and increased with the extrusion temperature. Best results were measured at 260°C. Models printed with Nylon-PA6 were strong and it took a side cutter to destroy them. The E-module strength was measured at 2800 MPa. Polyamides like the Nylon-PA6 are also well suited for alkaline environments (pH level >7).

German RepRap filaments are produced in Germany and sport high accuracy and reliable quality as required by professionals printing intricate models. The raw materials don’t contain heavy metals or toxic substances. The base materials and coloring dye are selected according to FDA and European food regulations.

Nylon-PA6 is available in the German RepRap online shop with 3 mm and 1.75 mm diameter and on spools of 2.1 kg and 750 g starting at 49,95 Euros incl. 19% VAT.

German RepRap Filaments can be used in various OpenSource 3D printers. The company sells its products world-wide online and over a network of resellers.
